The Convention Eucharist was spectacular. A careful mix of old and new, and a fine sermon by the Presiding Bishop, who also celebrated, plus a procession that included all the Bishops of the Church, combined to make the time very special.
Today was a bit more relaxed than usual, but we still spent several hours on the floor. D-025, which in effect says we won't be bound by 2006 B-066, was easily passed in the House of Deputies, while the House of Bishops passed the denominational health plan. As usual, the House of Deputies is way behind its schedule on legislation, promising a busy week ahead.
|4,000 or so Episcopalians in one room for the Convention Eucharist is very impressive.||The mix of folks was all of Convention writ large.|
|Lots of time on the floor today, and Bonnie Anderson, the President, does a masterful job presiding.||Here is our Lay Deputation waiting for the results of a vote.|
|Today was Dick and Barbara Davis' fortieth wedding anniversary. Congratulations!||Several Northwest Texas folks, and others, gathered in the evening to celebrate.|
